Williamson Inc. plans to host a career fair and business expo at the Factory in Franklin next month.
The same event last year attracted 700 people and 60 business exhibitors. The chamber expects even more people this year.
The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Factory in Franklin on Oct. 3.
This year, businesses will have the opportunity to place a now hiring marker on their booths. According to a press release, the camber of commerce decided to add the career fair this year because of the tight labor market in Middle Tennessee.
“We know that finding talent continues to be at the top of the list of large and small businesses across our county,” Williamson Inc. CEO Matt Largen said, according to the press release. “This combined event will allow our businesses to meet new potential customers and clients, while providing an avenue to find talent that will help our members grow their business.”
Williamson Inc. members can attend the event for free. Non members are encouraged to pay a $5 entry fee. Businesses can reserve space starting at $550. Participants can register on the chamber’s web site.
Williamson and Davidson counties had the lowest unemployment rate in the state in July. Both counties were at 3.2% unemployment.
That’s higher than earlier this year. Williamson County had a 2.4% unemployment rate in March.
